Médecins du Mondeis an international humanitarian organisation whose mission is:

• to provide medical care for the most vulnerable populations when they are faced with crisis or exclusion from society, in France and throughout the world,
• by encouraging voluntary commitment from doctors, other healthcare providers, as well as from professionals in other fields required for its activities,
• by enlisting all competent support required to accomplish its mission,
• by seeking at all times to give priority to local community level relations with the populations cared for.

Médecins du Mondebased on its medical practices and with total independence

identifies potential crises and threats to health and dignity so as to help prevent them mobilises partners for solidarity campaigns that go beyond the medical arena, denounces human rights violations and especially denial of access to healthcare, by the testimony it provides, develops new public health approaches and practices throughout the world, based on respect for human dignity, commits itself to a relationship of total openness with donors,campaigns for establishing humanitarian medical principles based on ethics of responsibility.

Considering that humanitarian aid has come to be an integral part of any democracy’s political structure,
Considering that humanitarian aid must be given to those who are close to us or far away, at home or abroad,
I reject all forms of discrimination against individuals, or against ethnic or religious groups,
I refuse to allow the rise of intolerance, racism, and anti-Semitism, I pledge to denounce them and stand in their way,
I reject exclusion born of poverty, precariousness, and ill health,
I reject the use of science to condone oppression, physical or mental torture, or to violate human dignity,
I reject any form of genetic engineering that harms the dignity of human beings,
I pledge to do all in my power to protect ecological balance,
I pledge to give assistance to all victims of natural, ecological, or political disasters, in my own country or abroad,
I pledge to do all in my power to protect the right of impartial non governmental relief organisations to give humanitarian aid to victims without discrimination, and whatever the circumstances,
I pledge to act so that the International Convention on the Rights of the Child is respected and applied in every country of the world,
I affirm that the principle of non-interference ceases to apply when there is a risk of failure to provide assistance,
Should atrocities be concealed,
I pledge to bear witness.
Should barbarity rise again,
I pledge to fight it.
