23 décembre 2008 - Face à l’épidémie de choléra qui aurait déjà fait près de 1 200 morts, Médecins du Monde a renforcé son équipe locale avec l’arrivée d’une équipe d’urgence à Chipinge. L’association est en charge de la coordination médicale de tout le district de Chipinge, qui compte 300 000 habitants .
23/09/2008 MDM’s photographer attacked and now denied the right to photograph
Athens, September 8th, 2008. After the attack, the beating-up and the arrest of the French photographer, Olivier Jobard, by the Patras Port Authorities in July, where he was in a MDM mission to photograph undocumented immigrants, the recent refusal from the Government’s General Secretariat of Information to authorise him to continue his photographic mission in our country attempts to “silence” Médecins du Monde’s work on this vulnerable group.

12 May 2008 - A plane chartered on Saturday from Bordeaux by Médecins du Monde arrived in Rangoon this morning with 22 tonnes of medical and logistical equipment.

9 May 2008 - Following the violent cyclone in Burma, Médecins du Monde immediately redeployed its teams to provide emergency care to the population of Rangoon and the surrounding area. Today, Médecins du Monde has received autorisation to send a back-up medical team and to charter a plane loaded with equipment and medicines.

Between 18 and 20 February, MdM provided training on epidemiological surveillance systems for the district health staff.

The "Health and Migrations in the EU" conference will be held in Lisbon on 27and 28 September 2007 under the auspices of the Portuguese presidency. It will bring together health ministers from across the European Union, each of whom will be presented with a set of 25 “best practices” in the field of migration and health care. Featured among them will be the European study performed by Médecins du Monde on access to health care for undocumented migrants.
